GYG is the powerhouse songwriting, guitar-slinging trio of Jimmy Griffin, Rick Yancey and Ronnie Guilbeau combining over 100 years of chops and expertise into a blend of soulful originals, stellar harmonies and tasty, thoughtful arrangements.

Jimmy Griffin’s debut album was on Frank Sinatra’s Reprise Records label in 1963. After several movie and TV roles, he founded Bread, the signature soft-rock romantic balladeer group that sold over 50 million records in the late 60’s and early 70’s. He won an Oscar in 1970 as co-writer of For All We Know, the theme from the movie  Lovers And Other Strangers. With Rick Yancey, he formed the popular country trio The Remingtons in the early 1990’s, scoring several more Top Ten Hits.

Rick Yancey is known as a consummate studio singer, with album credits on Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Lorrie Morgan and Waylon Jennings, among others. He was the guiding light behind Cymarron (Rings) and has numerous Top Ten hits as a songwriter.

Ronnie Guilbeau is a musician extraordinaire hailing from the Southern California school that birthed The Byrds, The Eagles and The Flying Burrito Brothers, of whom he was a member. He wrote the #1 Call It Love for Poco, and has had hits with Cheley Wright and John Berry as well.
GYG brings a blend of new songs, new energy and a fresh, breezy sound to the table.

The CD is a bittersweet accomplishment, due to Jimmy Griffin’s untimely passing from cancer in Jan. 2005, as momentum was building in Nashville for the band.
This is Jimmy Griffin’s final musical statement.
